Lisa & Lisa Reunion!
KOCH AND SPENCER REUNITE IN ASHLAND- Saturday, June 24, 7:30 PM
Singer/comedian Lisa Koch and musician Lisa Spencer reunite for one night only as “Lisa and Lisa”, popular 80’s Ashland duo. Koch returns to her hometown to team up with Spencer for a night of silly ditties, gorgeous ballads, and stellar harmonies. Special guests are Karen Wennlund and Isabel Enns.
Lisa and Lisa were a popular Ashland duo in the early 80’s, and toured their funny, feminist folk act around the Pacific Northwest. They performed regularly at local club Jazmin’s, and they reunite for this concert with their former boss, David Zaslow (now Rabbi Zaslow). Lisa and Lisa made only one recording (A Fine Romance), which has been out of print for many years. It will be available at the concert as a re-mastered CD.
LISA KOCH
Lisa Koch is a Tina-Fey-meets-Bette-Midler-with-Joan-Jett-guitar-chops kind of gal. An irreverent singer/comedian, out lesbian, and sober chick, Koch (“Coke”) is a deliciously twisted mishmash of comedy, theater, and tunes. She has recorded 5 solo CD’s, is one-half of loony sketch comedy duo, Dos Fallopia (My Breasts are Out of Control, Ham for the Holidays), and has shared the stage with Janis Ian, Kate Clinton, Lily Tomlin, Karla Bonoff, and Steve Martin.
Lisa has co-written such warped cabaret shows as “The Carpeters: Uncomfortably Close To You” (with brother David), and “Ham for the Holidays: Jurassic Pork”. She has appeared in two one-woman shows at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, composed Off-Broadway musical “27, Rue de Fleurus”, appeared on LOGO and Olivia Cruises, and actually had one of her songs sampled by Jay-Z. Lisa has just released her brand new CD, “Enjoy the Ride”. She brings to the stage her guitar, her wacky songs, and her musings on being a woman… from middle age to mammograms to singing vulvas.
LISA SPENCER
With a voice that can crack your heart open, Lisa Spencer’s performances let you know she is a woman who lives life – and knows how to sing about it.
Spencer has performed solo, in rock bands (In Flight, Blue Lightning), assorted choirs, and of course, as Lisa and Lisa. She also has spent many years crooning to her babies and grandbabies.
She is thrilled to be reuniting with Koch for this concert, singing classic songs they first performed over three decades ago. These days, Spencer loves singing and performing with her partner Karen Wennlund, and often with their daughter Isabel Enns (both of whom will be joining her on a few songs at this concert).
Tickets are $20 advance, $22 door. Tickets are available by CLICKING HERE (800-838-3006), and can also be purchased locally at The Music Coop, 268 E. Main St., Ashland.
