T’Shuva and Forgiveness with Rabbi Emanuel Ben David
T’Shuva and Forgiveness, Two Sides of One Coin: Reframing the Past and Shaping the Future
starting Tuesday, July 27 at noon and continuing on August 3, August 10, August 17 and August 24.
co-sponsored by Temple Emek Shalom and Havurah Shir Hadash.
In five sessions, we will explore these fundamental principles of our Jewish Tradition, that also serve as the core values of the High Holidays. Our journey will start with understanding the various meanings of the word T’shuva and familiarizing ourselves with a few quotes from the Tanakh (Bible) and High Holidays liturgy. Our Sages of blessed memory: Rambam (Maimonides), Rabbi Moshe Kordovero, Rabbi Jonathan Sacks and Rabbi Yoseph-Dov Soloveitchik, will illuminate and guide us in our journey as we prepare ourselves for the High Holidays.
In-person participation is welcome in our sanctuary. Vaccinated participants may be without masks; however, we do require, for the safety of all of us, that those who are not (or partially) vaccinated to wear masks during the class. The class will also be on Zoom. Please contact Ayala Zonnenschein at ayala@ashlandhavurah.org for the link.
We recommend that you download and print the lesson in advance, as we won’t share the text on screen; this will make the participation on Zoom more personable. Looking forward to studying together as we prepare ourselves for the High Holidays,
Rabbi Emanuel.
