KOCH SIBS RETURN TO ASHLAND

Wacky Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch and her talented musician/actor brother David return to their hometown for a night of demented songs and stellar harmonies.  They will be joined by special guests Lisa Spencer, Dal Carver, and other musical pals.

LISA KOCH

Picture Tina Fey meets Bette Midler with Joan Jett guitar chops… and you’ve got Seattle’s Lisa Koch. An irreverent singer/comedian, Koch has recorded 4 solo CD’s, is one-half of quirky sketch comedy duo, Dos Fallopia, and has shared the stage with the likes of Janis Ian, Lily Tomlin, The Indigo Girls and Kate Clinton.

Lisa has co-written such warped cabaret shows as “The Carpeters: Uncomfortably Close To You” (with brother David), “Deja Poo” and “Ham for the Holidays:  Close Encounters of the Pork Rind”.  She has appeared in two one-woman shows at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, composed Off-Broadway musical “27, Rue de Fleurus”, appeared on LOGO, and actually had one of her songs sampled by Jay-Z.

DAVID KOCH

David Hunter Koch is an actor/director/producer/musician and teacher. David founded the legendary Cabaret de Paris in Seattle, and has performed and directed at ACT, Seattle Rep, Intiman, 5th Ave, Milwaukee Rep, MetroStage, and more. He is currently the director of popular children’s theater camp, SingOut Seattle, and freelances around the country as a director and producer.

DAVID & LISA

The Kochs grew up in Ashland and started their musical careers in the Rogue Valley, singing at the Mark Antony Hotel and the Hungry Woodsman. The duo even opened for Steve Martin.  Lisa later joined rock band In Flight, and toured with local singer Lisa Spencer.  David formed his own band (Scat), and toured the west coast.  The Kochs were regular performers at popular Ashland club Jazmin’s, and they reunite for this concert with their former boss, David Zaslow (now Rabbi Zaslow).

Tickets are $20 advance, $22 door. Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com (800-838-3006), and can also be purchased locally at The Music Coop, 181 A St., Ashland.
